Keep it to one part per RFQ. If you have a family of similar parts, group them only when they share material, process, and tooling — otherwise you'll get a blended price that hides which part is driving the cost.
4. Common RFQ Mistakes That Cost Buyers Money
Leaving the material grade open. "Use your standard cast iron" invites the supplier to pick the grade that's cheapest to make, not the one your application needs. Name the grade and standard.
Skipping tolerances. "As per drawing" means nothing if the drawing has no tolerance callouts. State the ISO 8062 CT grade; otherwise the supplier prices to their in-house default, which may be tighter — and pricier — than you required.
