Low (Micro) Carbon Ferrochrome

Low (Micro) Carbon Ferrochrome, also known as low (micro) chromium ferrochrome, is composed of fine internal crystals. The grades with carbon contents of C0.25, C0.1, C0.06, and C0.03 look almost identical due to the small differences in carbon content.
Common Grades: Classified by carbon content:
  • FeCr55C2.0 (Medium Carbon Ferrochrome)

  • FeCr55C0.25 (Low Carbon Ferrochrome)

  • FeCr55C0.1 (V10, Micro Carbon Ferrochrome)

  • FeCr55C0.06 (V6, Micro Carbon Ferrochrome)

  • FeCr55C0.03 (V3, Micro Carbon Ferrochrome)

Specifications: Natural lumps, 10-50mm processed lumps.
Cr Equivalent Basis: 60% Cr basis
Physical Properties: Extremely high hardness, making manual processing difficult. Medium carbon ferrochrome is rarely traded in the market and is generally replaced by low carbon ferrochrome (C0.25).
Applications:
Used as an additive in special steels, stainless steels, and alloys to increase the wear resistance and hardness of castings.
  • Stainless Steel Production: An important alloy raw material for manufacturing stainless steel. It improves the corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance, and strength of stainless steel, making it widely used in kitchenware, medical equipment, architectural decoration, and other fields.

  • Heat-Resistant Steel Manufacturing: Adding low-carbon ferrochrome to heat-resistant steel enhances its high-temperature resistance, making it suitable for manufacturing high-temperature furnace tubes, boiler components, and other equipment operating in high-temperature environments.

  • Other Fields: Also used in the production of various alloy structural steels, tool steels, etc., to improve the comprehensive performance of steel materials and meet the special performance requirements of different industrial sectors.

Packaging & Storage: Jumbo bag packaging. Store in a dry, well-ventilated warehouse and avoid contact with humid air. During transportation, prevent package damage, rain exposure, and mixing with corrosive substances such as acids and alkalis.
